Late this afternoon, we headed over to Spokane Riverfront Park for an STCU family Christmas event. They had rented the 1909 Looff Carousel for us to use. Of course, Santa was there. John expressed his usual apprehension of the ‘jolly man in the red suit’ but did go sit on his lap, answered ‘yes’ he had been a good boy and ‘yes’ he wanted cars and trucks for Christmas.
We took turns riding the carousel with John and had great fun! Yes, the whole thing was enclosed and for an hour or so, we forgot that it was only 5 degrees outside.
It is so bitter cold out, if I had my way, I’d just spend day and night in front of our wood stove, drinking hot tea and hibernating until spring.
These two little darlings joined Greg and Maria on November 4th! The smaller of the two is Lyla Hope on the left and Harlow Nanette is on the right. I was fortunate enough to go to Arizona and help take care of the twins for a week. They are just adorable. They are identical and right now you can tell them apart because Harlow is a couple of pounds bigger than Lyla, but when Lyla catches up, it is going to be downright tough! They love to sleep as close to each other as possible. It was just precious to experience.
Anna arrived a couple weeks before her due date, on October 14th, weighing in at 6#7oz and 19 1/2 inches long. She is just adorable. I was fortunate enough to get some time off work and go back to Michigan last week to help with this new little angel.
Like most newborns, she currently has her days and nights confused. So most of the help I gave consisted of staying up with Anna into the wee hours of the morning, so her worn out parents could get the rest that they needed. She is a voracious little eater and Carrie is nursing her, supplementing some feedings with formula. Anna doesn’t care….she just wants to eat almost constantly! She has very long fingers, beautiful big eyes and is perfect in every way. She has a good set of lungs and lets you know what she wants and when she wants it.
I am back in Idaho now, dependent on pictures in order to watch her grow, and we all know how quickly little ones do that. I’ll catch up on my sleep now!
We arrived safe and sound at our new home at 4pm on Wednesday having completed a 2080 mile trip in three days. After an easy Tuesday’s drive to Billings, MT, the last day was full of mountains and passes. The truck and car coped well though and we made it home in time to start unpacking.
Thursday morning saw a team of helpers from our new church turn up to help us finish the job and by Noon the truck was unpacked and the furniture inside.
Now we have the computers connected, our beds and furniture roughly in place and have a mountain of boxes to unpack.
More, as we start to make new progress.
